Abstract

[Class 78 (iv)] [See also Group XXXII] In an animal-carrying vehicle in which the side or part of the side of the vehicle can be turned down to form a ramp, an aperture or recess is provided in the ramp between its side edges through which a wheel or wheels of the vehicle can protrude when the ramp is resting on the ground. Fig. 2 shows an arrangement in which the ramp 16 is provided with an aperture through which a wheel 11, provided with a detachable mudguard, protrudes, the aperture being covered by a plate 27 engaging over the wheel. In the raised position, the aperture is closed by a board 29, Fig. 5. The ramp is provided with a stiffening bar 20 to which are secured adjustable supporting legs 22. The ramp may comprise two or more sections hinged side by side, the aperture being formed in one section only.
