Abstract

432,929. Cycle mudguards. RUDGEWHITWORTH, Ltd., and WOOLLARD, F. G., Crow Lane, Coventry. June 30, 1934, No. 19385. [Class 136 (i)] A cycle mudguard is provided at one or both ends with a separate reinforcing tip of sheet metal, &c., arranged transversely across the end in order to prevent damage. The reinforcing- piece a is made from a sheet of metal folded on itself and shaped to conform with the cross-sectional contour of the mudguard b, and may be secured in place by sliding its inner part into the opening between the free edge of each bead c and the inner surface of the guard b. The piece a may, in addition, be soldered to the inner surface, &c. of the guard b. In modifications, the reinforcing- piece a is secured to the guard b by one or more tangs adapted to be folded over the edges of the guard.
