Abstract

431,317. Percussive drills. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.- (Aktiebolaget Atlas Diesel; Sickla, near Stockholm) Dec. 21, 1934, No. 36765. [Class 124] A percussive drill has a striking piston 2, the reciprocations of which are balanced by a piston 3 which does not strike to the tool 6 either directly or indirectly. This piston is reciprocated by air controlled by the valve 5, the movements of which correspond to the movements of the striking piston 2. In a modification, Fig. 3, the return stroke of the piston 3 is made by the spring 17. In further modifications the piston 3 moves in a cylinder separate from that of the piston 2. In another modification the piston 3 surrounds the piston 2.
