Abstract

431,280. Mechanical switches without quick action. DAVY, A., Bray, Westcar Lane, Hersham, and WESTON ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENT CO., Ltd., Kingston By-Pass, Surbiton, both in Surrey. March 10, 1934, No. 7664. [Class 38 (v)] A rotary multiposition switch comprises insulating discs a, b having a series of contact strips a<1>, b<1> arranged on opposed faces and adapted to be connected together by two forked spring contact arms e tangentially fixed on an insulating bush d<2> on an operating spindle d. A spring arm, (not shown), fixed at one end to the bush d<2> engages recesses b' in the disc b to hold the switch in its various positions. To adjust the contact pressure the distance between the discs a, b can be varied by means of screws, (not shown), which pass freely through one disc and engage in the other.
