A drawing-die comprises a central member containing 93 per cent of tungsten, 4 per cent of carbon, and 3 per cent of cobalt, and outer layers or an enclosing member of an alloy containing 88 per cent of tungsten, 6 per cent of carbon, and 6 per cent of cobalt. Other unspecified alloys of the refractory carbide type may be employed.
