Abstract

428,289. Table, chair, &c. legs. VINEGRAD, G., 30, Allington Road, Hendon, London. Nov. 9, 1933, Nos. 31231/33 and 1445/34. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] [See also Group XXV] Folding tables, chairs, and other furniture of the kind with legs folding under the top are fitted so that the legs have a slight lateral movement on their pivot devices to enable the legs to lay side by side. Fig. 2 shows a crossbar 6 connecting two legs 1 pivoted by means of edges 2 upon short transverse pivot bars 3, on which the legs &c. pivot and slide. The bars 3 are attached to a cross-bar 5, and the bar 6 is secured in place, with the legs vertical, by a slotted lug 14 and butterfly-nut 15. When the other pair of legs is not slidable, the pivoting and clamping may be effected by means of two plates 16, 18, Fig. 3, pivoted together at 19 and secured by a butterfly-nut connection 17.
