Abstract

A veterinary remedy, for use particularly in treating foot-rot, consists of an aqueous mixture comprising from 5 to 20 per cent formaldehyde and a proportional quantity of oil of tar to give a phenol content not substantially exceeding 2 per cent. The remedy may conveniently be made, e.g. by the addition of equal parts of 40 per cent formaldehyde and an aqueous solution prepared by shaking up one part of oil of tar with 20 parts of water.
