Latex, treating.-Latex is stabilized by the addition of a boron compound, for example sodium pentaborate, or a mixture of borax and boric acid, which will impart to the latex a p H value of between 6 and 9.2. In an example 2 per cent of sodium pentaborate is added. A small quantity of a germicide may be added, in which case the quantity of the boron compound or mixture may be reduced.
