Abstract

426,691. Toy guns and projectiles. ARNOLD, C., 47, Deutschherrnstrasse, Nuremberg, Germany. July 27, 1934, No. 22007. [Class 132 (iii)] [See also Group XXI] A mechanical toy has a toy aircraft projected from a tube by spring means, a charge in the end of the projectile being ignited by a percussion cap fired simultaneously with the projection of the aircraft. As shown, a projectile s in the form of an aircraft has inserted in an aperture u a rocket charge v of powdered cerium and potassium chlorate. The projectile is retained in the slotted barrel d by a nose k on a pivoted lever l engaging a recess t in the projectile. The barrel d is provided at its end with an anvil g having an aperture f. A striker bolt plate o is pivoted on an axle n journalled in stays h and is provided with a pin w and a metal strip or cup y for a percussion cap and is retained by a detent q against the action of a blade spring p. The barrel d is carried by supports b mounted on a base plate a. On depressing the detent q the plate o is freed and is rotated upwardly by the spring p for the percussion cap to be fired against the anvil g, sparks passing through the aperture f to ignite the charge v. Simultaneously the pin w rotates the lever l to withdraw the nose, k from the recess t and allow the spring c to project the toy aircraft s.
