Abstract

424,412. Rake &c. handle-socket fixings. RICHARDSON, W. G., 52, The Thoroughfare, Halesworth, Suffolk. May 19, 1933, No. 14642. [Class 61 (i)] A socket mounting for interchangeable horticultural tools such as rakes &c. comprises a square or other polygonal socket member 2 fixed to a handle 3 and fitted near the end with a spring plunger 5 for locking engagement with a hole 14 in the shank 15 of the tool. The plunger 5 works within a boss 4 welded in a hole in the socket and has a tapered end 13 ; the spring 12 is located between a flange 11 and the end 6 of the boss, and a guide sleeve 9 secured to the top of the plunger 5 excludes dirt from the space 10.
