[Class 83 (iv)] In reducing a hollow billet A by a series of coacting internal and external rolls on a helical track the rolls B <1> form a shallow groove which is gradually widened and deepened by the succeeding pairs of rolls B<4> &c. More than one set of rolls may be used, Fig. 14, working in a separate helical track or may be set to follow up in the same helical track. The rolls are skewed to feed the work.
