[Class 102 (i).] In a revolving - cylinder pump, in which the cylinder body 33 rotates on a stationary valve 4 supported at both ends in the casing, a fluid distributer 15 is secured to one end of the valve, while the other end is supplied with lubricant by a pipe 93. The body 33 has radial bores with pistons 35 having pivoted slippers 37, which are held in engagement with the inner race of a roller bearing 39 by means of flanged rings 41. The outer race of the bearing 39 is mounted in a rectangular box 49, which is adjustable transversely for varying the stroke and for reversing the direction of pumping. The cylinder body carries a gear-wheel 61, which meshes with a pinion 63 on a driving shaft 64 mounted in bearings 65. The latter may be carried in a cover plate which can be bolted in various positions in order to vary the position of the driving shaft. The ports 8, 9 in the valve communicate by axial passages with passages in the fitting 15, which is secured to the valve by a clamp 14 and a stud 23. The fitting 15 has suction and discharge branches 18, 19, each branch having an alternative connection 21, 22. A gear-wheel 73 on the cylinder body drives two gear-wheel pumps 71, 72. The pump 71 circulates lubricant from a reservoir to an elevated tank, while the pump 72 draws lubricant from the elevated tank and discharges it by a pipe 79 to a passage 81 in the pump casing. The lubricant passes by bores 84 to a tray 85 in the box 49 and by further bores to the bearing 39. Lubricant also passes by a passage 88 to a chamber 89, from which it passes by a bore 91 to the gearing 61, and by the pipe 93 to an axial passage 25 in the valve. From the passage 25 the lubricant passes by passages 26 to recesses 27 in the valve surface.
