Abstract
419,423. Delivering measured quantities of pulverulent material. KILIAN, F., 35, Goeckestrasse, Hohenschonhausen, Berlin. June 16, 1934, No. 17906. Convention date, June 16, 1933. [Class 106 (v).] Apparatus for delivering measured quantities of pulverulent material comprises a measuring chamber such as the adjustable die of a press, a device such as a funnel for filling the chamber and a receiving vessel connected to the filling device and movable therewith from a position in which it receives the measured quantity from the chamber to a position in which it transfers the said quantity to delivery means. The measuring chamber is formed by a die opening m of adjustable depth in a plate 17 and is filled by gravity from a funnel 20 adapted to be moved to a position over the opening. The funnel is carried by a plate 19 pivoted to the plate 17 at 18. When the chamber has been filled, the funnel is moved away and an open-ended cylindrical member 23 brought over the chamber. The bottom of the measuring chamber is then moved upwardly into the plane of the plate 17 so that the measured quantity is contained within the member 23 which is adapted to be moved along the surface of the plate 17 to a position above a discharge opening 21.
