Abstract

419,421. Rotary pumps. LARAQUE, R. S. J., 32, Rue de Lisbonne, Paris. June 6, 1934, No. 16811. [Class 110 (ii).] The pump comprises two rotors 1, 2, a vane 10 fixed to the outer rotor and sliding and rocking in the inner rotor, and two or more hinged vanes 12, 13, which may be pressed against the rotor 1 by fluid being delivered through an orifice 6, or swing inwards when fluid enters a suction port 5. Means to vary the eccentricity of the rotor 2 relative to the outer rotor in a two-cylinder pump, Fig. 7, include gearing 28, 29 to turn a crank shaft 9 which supports the inner rotors 2. The gear 29 may be turned by hand. Another means to turn the end 27 of the shaft 9 comprises a pivoted handle with a pin at one end which engages one of a series of holes arranged in an arc of a circle on the casing wall. The outer rotor 1 is driven by a pinion 18, on a driving shaft 19, meshing with teeth 17 on the rotor periphery. More than two pumping chambers may be provided. The direction of rotation may be reversed to reverse the flow of fluid through the pump.
