[Class 132 (ii).] A billiard table made of metal such as steel comprises a metal bed 1 having edges 2 resting on a metal frame 3 mounted on the shoulders 8 of side members 4 supported by legs 5 of metal tubing trussed by cross members 6 having four arms 7 which, together with the legs 5, engage in cups 23. The bed 1 is held in position by filling members 10 of resilient steel, and is firmly keyed by the cushion rails 11 which are formed of steel tubes having a rubber cushion 12 and are wedged under ledges 9. Bolts 13 and corner pieces 14 secure the sides 4, 41 and the legs 5. The leg 5 is freed by loosening the nut 21 and pulling the leg downwards to disengage notches 19 from the bolt 13. The balls falling through holes 24 and sleeves 26 pass down an incline 27, accessible through a hinged shutter 29, to two one-way gates 32, 36 separated by a rack 35 which can only be lifted by starting the meter at the beginning of a game, the balls being imprisoned by the rack when the predetermined time has elapsed. In a modified table, Fig. 9, having flat steel sheet sides 46, these are secured to the legs 53 without the use of bolts and nuts, the joint being obtained by the engagement of angle pieces 54 on the sides with angle pieces 55 on the legs and by the engagement of the wall of the tubular leg between the angle pieces 54 and the inturned edges 57 of the sides.
