[Class 3 (i).] A cabinet or showcase for cigars &c. of the kind having a number of hinged flaps 4 with brackets 6, 7 to support the cigars and opened and closed simultaneously by gear wheels 15, 16 operated by a knob 14, comprises a cover 8 and a hollow base 9 spaced by a distance piece 10 and clamped together by nuts 11, 12 on an inner threaded tube 5 through which the operating-spindle passes. Instead of hand operation, clockwork may be enclosed in the hollow base 9 to open and close the flaps periodically. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which a single tube 19 screwed into the base and fixed to the cover by set-screws 22, replaces the two tubes 10, 5.
