418,769. Road rollers &c. WHEELED ROLLER CORPORATION, San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Biles, E. V.; 530, Drexel Avenue, San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A.) June 21, 1933, No. 17718. Convention date, July 7, 1932. [Class 6 (i).] A road or like roller has a supporting frame and an axle structure comprising a main axle 11 for the roller connected by crank arms to spindles 3 for a pair of ground-engaging wheels 2, and the construction is such that, by swinging the frame about the axle structure, either the roller or the wheels are brought into contact with the ground. The roller 1 may be solid, hollow, or of the ballasted type and is rotatable on the axle 11. The frame comprises yoke members 4 connected to a plate 5. A draft tongue 6 is pivoted at 7 and may be held in any desired radial position by a pin 8<a> which engages holes in the upturned edge of the plate 5. The tongue 6 may be provided with a handle, shafts or an eye 6<a> for attachment to a motor vehicle. As shown in Fig. 4, the tongue 6 is swung over to bring either the roller 1 or wheels 2 into contact with the ground.
