Abstract
417,392. Copy-holders. SHROITMAN, H., P.O. Box 788, Jerusalem, Palestine. April 4, 1933, No. 10072. [Class 100 (iii).] A copy - holder comprising a base and work support hinged adjustably together is fitted with line and column indicators. and optionally with winch - like means for raising the work support bodily. Fig. 1 shows a copyholder consisting of a frame 1, a face plate 2 attached to it by screws 19, a base frame 4 on hinges 3, an adjustable prop 6 connecting the frame 4 and the upper part of the frame 1, and four lugs 9 to which may be secured brackets 10 connected by a rod 11 supporting a spring-pressed line guide bar 12. A similar rod may be fitted horizontally at the top edge to support a vertical column-guide bar. A bottom-edge support 17 is fitted adjustably in a slot 24, but may alternatively be fitted on the rod 11. The plate 2 may be widened by a plate attached to the right-hand lugs 9. The part 17 may be fitted with a paper clipping or holding device consisting of an L-section part sliding on the part 17 and impelled inwards by a spring. To adapt the device to a typewriter there is attached to it by means of the holes 22, 23 a winch-like device, comprising worm-gearing, a brake, release gear, and a winding-drum for lifting by means of a cord a sliding frame interposed between the plate 2 and the frame 1.
