Abstract

416,819. Scouring - pads. DURON, C. G. O., and DESHAYES, A. F., 126, Rue Legendre, Paris. Oct. 24, 1933, No. 29424. [Class 28 (ii).] A scouring and polishing pad comprises a core preferably of rubber having two curved sides 1, 2 bulging outwardly and formed with edges 3, 4 where they meet, the sides being studded with rubber teeth 6, 7 which hold metal shavings wound thereon, and a central web 5 disposed at right angles to the axis of the core. The teeth 6 on one side are fewer and stiffer than the teeth 7 on the other side, so that the side 2 may be used for scouring, and the side 1 for polishing. The edges 3, 4 are used for cleaning corners. Drainage holes are formed in the sides 1, 2 and in the web 5. Ledges 10 enable the pad to be securely gripped and protect the fingers and nails of the user. A central hole 11 in the web 5 is used for the attachment of a string for suspension.
