Abstract

413,997. Clips and clamps. VIDAL, A. J., 7, Rue d'Argout, Paris. Feb. 23, 1934, No. 6030. Convention date, Oct. 13, 1933. [Class 44.] Ear-rings, brooches, and like ornaments are secured in position by one or more eccentricallypivoted members which have a self-tightening action on external force being applied to the ornament. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, an eccentrically pivoted member 3, which is urged towards clamping position by a light spring, is carried by a slide 6 adjustably mounted on an ear-ring 1, a projection 5 being provided in the member 3 to facilitate detachment. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which two eccentrically pivoted members are employed on an ear-ring, each being provided with a disengaging lever 5.
