Abstract

413,947. Cooling liquids. MORTON & CO., Ltd., R., and ROBINSON, C., Trent Works, Burton-on-Trent. Dec. 6, 1933, No. 34248. [Class 29.] In apparatus of the wort cooler type comprising a distributer 10 for liquid flowing over a hollow body 12 through which another liquid oirculates, the distributer is of tubular form and has discharge apertures 20 in its upper part increasing in area per unit length of distributer, with the distance from the point at which the liquid is fed. The distributer is freely supported on brackets 15 so that it may be readily removed for cleaning and so that it may expand freely under heat. Kidney-shaped tubes 13 are placed on the top of the body 12 to form a secondary distributer. The distributer 10 is provided with removable caps 17 for cleaning purposes, and may also have drain plugs at the bottom and additional apertures at the side.
