Abstract
413,852. Desks or stands. PAYNE, L. W. G., and CARTERS (J. & A.), Ltd., 2, New Cavendish Street, London. May 25, 1933, No. 15186. [Classes 52 (iii) and 52 (v).] An invalids' table or like support comprises a base with two parallel telescopic tubular uprights adjustable in height, and clamping means at their upper ends for supporting a table and optionally other accessories. Fig. 1 shows a table with a tripod base 1, two upright tubes 2, 3 with a terminal casting 4 and tubes 7, 8 telescoping into them. They are secured in adjusted position by a clamp 9 and screw-andnut fastening 13. A casting 14 supports a tube 15, on which is secured adjustably by a screw- and-nut fastening 19 a table 16. The casting 14 has an open upper end for the reception of a rod 21, Fig. 5, on which a small table 26, a reading-desk 27, and a bag 28 may be supported. An adjustable collar 22 enables the height of these fittings to be adjusted, and its serrated underside 24 engaging with a pin 25, prevents accidental movement.
