Abstract

413,470. Casserole dishes. BELT, J., 130, Grove Road, King's Heath, Birmingham. May 11, 1933, No. 13682. [Class 66.] A casserole dish or a stand therefor is provided with an outwardly projecting arm, fixed thereto, having means for engaging a portion of the lid beyond the edge of the dish to support the former with the dish open said lid being additionally supported at the edge of the dish. As shown in Fig. 1, a metal stand 10 is provided with a pair of arms 12 of strip metal ; the arms are curved inwardly at their outer ends to provide recesses 14 adapted to receive the neck 15 of the knob on the lid 16. The dish is supported in the stand 10 by its projecting rim, and the lid, when it is placed with its knob engaging the recess 14, rests against the said rim. Alternatively the arms 12 may be of sheet or cast material with forked ends. In a modification, Fig. 3, the dish 17 is formed with an integral arm 19 to support the lid. The stand or dish may also be of glass or earthenware.
