[Class 117.] In screening-apparatus of the type in which a stationary, tensioned screening surface is vibrated by a rotary cam acting on a spring loaded pin coacting with a transverse bar bearing on the screening surface, the vibrating device consists of one or more transverse bars m, Fig. 3, lying under the screening surface a and supported at each end by spring loaded pins k reciprocated in guides k<1> by rotary cams b. The amplitude of vibration is adjusted by nuts m<1> and pointers may be provided on the bars m to indicate the extent of the adjustment. In double decker arrangements, the bars for vibrating the screens may be rigidly connected together or mounted for independent operation by the same pins k. In the construction described, the screening surface a is secured in a frame c, Fig. 1, by clamping bars a' and tensioning rods a<7>. The frame is pivotally supported at g on a wheeled under-carriage h and is secured in adjusted position by struts j.
