Abstract
412,738. Spanners. CARINGTON, C. M., Ladder Stile Cottage, Kingston Hill, Surrey, and K.L.G. SPARKING PLUGS, Ltd., Robinhood Engineering Works, Putney Vale, London. April 28, 1933, No. 12387. [Class 61 (iii).] Spanners of the kind comprising relatively rotatable nut &c. engaging members, one for engaging an object and the other for engaging another object which is to be rotated relatively to the first, and more particularly for tightening the gland nut of a sparking plug have a series of holes, abutments &c. on each of the spanner members, the two series of abutments being arranged in vernier relationship. In the construction shown a spanner 18 adapted to engage the body nut of the sparking plug is riveted to a disc 17 rotatably mounted on another spanner member adapted to engage the gland nut 13 and secured to another disc 15. Eight equally spaced holes 21 are provided near the edge of disc 15 and nine holes 22 in disc 17 enabling the discs to be rotated relatively in short steps by pushing a pointed tommy bar into pairs of partly coincident holes.
