410,067. Diaphragm pumps. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR, 8, Fleminggatan, Stockholm, Sweden.-(Assignees of Hapgood, C. H. ; Nutley, New Jersey, U.S.A.) Feb. 16, 1934, No. 5177. Convention date, Feb. 23, 1933. [Class 102 (i).] A pump for milk comprises a diaphragm e dividing a casing into a pump chamber g and a chamber h, which is alternately connected to vacuum and to atmosphere. The chamber g discharges through a pipe p and draws through a pipe o from a reservoir which is connected to vacuum, so that the pressures on the two sides of the diaphragm e are always balanced. The diaphragm e is connected by a rod k to a second diaphragm f which divides a casing into chambers i, j. Pipes 16, 17 connect the chambers h, i, j to a casing containing a valve 20, which controls connections 13, 12 to vacuum and to atmosphere. The valve is formed with a lower head of larger diameter, the under surface of which is alternately connected to vacuum and to atmosphere in order to reciprocate the valve. A groove 22 in the lower head is connected to vacuum by means of passages 21.
