Abstract

409,571. Windscreen - cleaners. ROMAC MOTOR ACCESSORIES, Ltd., Romac Works, The Hyde, and BAGGS, C. B., Laurel Bank, Holders Hill Road, both in Hendon, London. Sept. 14, 1933, No. 25457. [Class 138 (i).] The arm e of a windscreen-cleaner is provided with a body a secured by a set screw d to the usual rock shaft c, and is pivoted at g between its ends the upper portion being engaged by a spring k so that the wiper blade f is pressed against the screen i. The lower portion of the arm e is jointed at p, the parts being held normally in alignment by a sleeve q internally threaded for engagement with the part above the joint. The spring k is housed in a recess j in the body a and bears against a plunger m which engages an adjustable screw n secured to the upper portion of the wiper arm. The sleeve q instead of being secured by screw means may be secured by a bayonet joint or friction joint. Two wipers may be operated together by means of a link connecting two pivot pins, each pin being on a lug projecting upwardly from a body a.
