Abstract
409,351. Hinged - sliding sashes. CRITTALL MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., Braintree, Essex, and WALKER, F. P., 210, High Holborn, London. Oct. 28, 1932, No. 30313. [Class 20 (iii).] Hinged-sliding windows of the kind comprising sashes hinged to each other and inner sashes hinged to the frame have guides provided on the meeting sashes which in the closed position are disposed on one side of the centre line of the meeting rails A, A, the combined distance from this line being equal to the distance between the guide rails 14, 18. The guides are in the form of U-shaped members journalled in brackets 11, 15 secured to the sashes. A spring-pressed plunger 20 may be provided on one or both sashes and adapted to engage the other sash to resist opening movement when closed. The guide rails are sides of an inverted channel.
