Abstract

319,539. Coulter, H. A. Nov. 22, 1928. Window frames; sliding sashes removable from frame.-Window frames are made from sheet metal bent to form channel guides, as shown in Fig. 2, and joined by riveting to a flanged sill and lintel, as shown in Fig. 3. The sashes are made T-shaped of bent sheet metal, as shown in Fig. 2. The channel guides 6, 7 are made deeper than the opposite guides 8, 9, and house channel bars 21, 22 urged against the sash by leaf springs 23, and adapted to hold same in any position. The sashes mav be removed from the frame by moving sideways against the springs 23 till clear of the grooves 8, 9. The sashes may be locked in the closed or intermediate positions by means of spring bars 24 thereon and pins 26 on the bars adapted to enter holes in the frame.
