Abstract

408,889. Knitting-machines. MILLS, R. K., 3, Edwards Lane, Sherwood, Notting- ham. Oct. 24, 1933, No. 29416. [Class 74 (ii).] In a circular knitting-machine for producing locked or tied stitches in a ribbed fabric, two sets of plural latched needles draw the loops in different directions, and each set is actuated by a pair of cams. One cam of each pair produces normal, and the other locked, stitches. Cylinder needles 1, and dial needles 2, rotating in the direction of the arrows Y, are actuated by cams A, B, and A<1>, B<1> respectively, and are served by feeders 5, 6. The cams B, B<1> cause the thread to be taken between the latches, producing locked stitches, and are opposed to the cams A<1>, A which cause the thread to be taken in the hooks, to produce normal stitches. There may be more than two pairs of cams and the locked stitch cams may be displaceable to knit normal stitches when required. Specification 329,098, [Class 74 (ii)], is referred to.
