[Class 136 (iii).] A saddle top or seat-member is made of inherently-rigid metal and is provided with integral or permanently-secured lugs or brackets adapted to be directly connected to the.saddlepillar clip without the use of an underframe. The top a, which may be cast from aluminium alloy &c. is formed with a pair of integral laterally-spaced lugs c bored to receive the clamping-bolt e of a seat-pillar clip d, which is adjustably mounted between the lugs c and is pivoted at f to a bracket g secured by a bolt g<2> to a boss g<3> on the top a. To permit longitudinal adjustment of the top, the bolts g2, e pass respectively through slots g<1>, cl, and a tilting adjustment of the top about the pivot f is permitted by an arcuate slot d'. The top a may be plated or polished, or covered with electrically-deposited rubber, vulcanized rubber, celluloid, leather, textile material, &c.
