406,966. Tool-holders for lathes &c. ROQUEJOFFRE, G., 43, Avenue du Maine, Paris. May 27, 1932, No. 15068. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 30, 1932]. [Class 83 (iii).] A tool-holder for a lathe, planing-machine or the like, particularly for cutting-off or grooving operations comprises a shank 1, the head of which is conically bored at 1<1> to receive a bush 2 which has an eccentric conical bore 21 accommodating a correspondingly tapered part 4 of the tool holding head 3. The tool 14 is of trapezoidal section and the top face is tapered off longitudinally, Fig. 16, so that its thickness diminishes from front to rear to afford clearance in groove cutting or cutting-off. The tool is clamped against a seating 3<1> in the head by means of a draw bolt 7 having an eccentric flatted conical head 8 engaging the top face of the tool. The eccentric bush may be adjusted to vary the height of the tool by means of a loose ring 10 having a pin 11 engaging a recess in the bush, the parts being then clamped by a nut 12 screwing on the stem of the head 3. The head may also be rotated round the bolt 7 to vary the angle of the tool and may in some cases be placed in the position shown in Fig. 2.
