Abstract

406,508. Sliver-guides; stop-motions. JACOBI, L., 3, Kolingasse, Vienna. April 25, 1933, No. 12106. [Classes 120 (i) and 120 (ii).] A funnel guide for the delivery of slivers from cottondrawing frames is divided at right angles to the direction of feed of the sliver into two parts m, n, Figs. 2 and 3, comprising a fixed delivery funnel m and an entry member n which is pivoted and movable in the feed direction of the sliver so as to serve as an actuating member for the detecting and stopping mechanism. The entry funnel n is secured to the rocking lever d while a felt ring j is inserted between its flange i and the cover plate c. The conical delivery member m is adjustably attached by a yoke p and bolts r to the cover plate c. On breakage of the sliver or an excessive unevenness therein the member n is rocked to interpose the stop g in the path of the oscillating lever h and stop the machine ; the member m remaining stationary. In consequence the delivery funnel can be positioned much nearer the nip of the rollers a.
