July 27, 1933, No. 21162. Convention date, July 27, 1932. [Class 40 (v).] In order to match a preceding signal source, a step-down transformer 8, Fig. 1, is included in the input of two valves 10, 11 in push-pull having zero grid bias. The valves may be pentodes for working as a class-A amplifier or two-grid valves 10<1>, 11<1>, Fig. 3, may be used for working as a class-B amplifier. Preferably the step-down transformer is included in the output of a detector 2, Fig. 1. The detector may comprise two valves in parallel, Fig. 5 (not shown).
