Abstract

405,436. Light - current relays. SIEMENS BROS. & CO., Ltd., Caxton House, Tothill Street, and GACHET, E. J., 12, Eating- ton Road, Leyton, both in London. Dec. 2, 1932, No. 34147. [Class 38 (v).] In a relay of the type described in Specification 385,692 the tension of the armaturebearing spring is adjusted by a further plate spring which is arranged to bear on the armature-bearing spring at a point or points between its fixed end and the core. As shown in Fig. 1 the tension-adjusting spring 20 is clamped at the end 10 together with the spring 11 carrying the armature 12. The spring 20 is slotted and bent, as shown, so as to pass across the spring 11 the upper side of the slot bearing on the upper face of the spring 11 with a force which may be varied by a screw 9. The free end of the additional spring 20 may be bent downwardly as shown so as to bear on the spring 11 at a point approximately above the pole of the core 27 on which the armature normally rests. The spring 11 may be channelled near its contact-carrying end to stiffen it and may be lightened by the provision of a slot near its free end. The armature may be secured to the spring by spot welding.
