[Class 99 (i).] In a pipe joint of the kind shown, the inner end of the ferrule c and the co-operating surface d<1> in the socket d are tapered to the same angle. The ferrule may be made wholly of soft metal or of hard metal with a brazed-on tapered part of soft metal, and a packing ring may be interposed between the end of the pipe a and the shoulder d<2> of the socket.
