404,071. Cooling milk &c. HAWKINS, A. T., 16, Selvage Lane, Mill Hill, London. Aug. 22, 1932, No. 23472. [Class 29.] A milk &c. cooler comprises a series of superposed cooling tubes 5 of triangular crosssection disposed between headers and over which the milk flows from a perforated trough 3. The tubes may be corrugated or provided with internal baffles, e.g. a helical strip of metal, to enhance the heat transfer between the milk and the refrigerant flowing through the tubes. The milk may be pre-cooled before being poured into the trough.
