Abstract
403,607. Water motors. VULLIERME, M., 84, Rue Michel Ange, Paris. March 19, 1932, No. 8243. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, March 21, 1932]. [Class 110 (iii).] Relates to endless - chain motors having vertical or horizontal shafts. The chains 8, 9 which carry the vanes 10 pass over sprockets 18, 19 on the shafts 1, 2. The water, entering in the direction of the arrow 5, acts first on the vanes in the inlet side, and is then deflected by blades 14, which may be adjustable, so that it acts again on the vanes on the outlet side. The angle of the vanes 10 may be varied by arms 20 carried by a parallel chain 17, the position of which relative to the other chains is determined by a speed governor S. The shaft 1 drives a generator 16. In the modification shown in Fig. 6, the vanes 33, 34 are reversed on passing round the sprockets by taking the vane-carrying chain 25 over an off-set pinion 31, and the auxiliary regulating chain 26 over an off-set pinion 32. Power may be taken from these pinions. In further modifications the same result is secured by taking the regulating chain round eccentrically arranged sprockets which may be adjustable. The apparatus may be mounted upon floats forming a pontoon.
