Abstract

401,197. Sliding seats. SLEIGH, H. L., CHESTON, A. S., and EDMONDS, E. C., Widney Works, Bagot Street, Birmingham. May 2, 1933, No. 12729. [Class 52 (ii).] In sliding seats for vehicles of the type mounted on guide channels 3, Fig. 2, locking means comprise a spring loaded horizontal sliding bolt 8 mounted on the under side of the seat to slide in a direction at right-angles to the guide channel and to engage in one of a number of apertures 7 in the side thereof, and a rocking shaft 12 rotatably mounted under the seat parallel to the guide channel and having at its inner end an arm 12a, Fig. 3, engaging a slot in the end of the bolt 8 to actuate the latter. The outer end of the shaft 12 is bent upwardly to form a handle 14. Plates 5 mounted on the under side of the seat carry resiliently mounted rollers 6 engaging the channel members 3, as described in Specification 388,339.
