Abstract

400,866. Scaffold clamps. JOHNSTON, W. A., 88, Ellington Road, Hounslow, Middlesex, and LE BAS, E., Dock House, Billiter Street, London. May 4, 1933, No. 13038. Addition to 363,047 and 381,775. [Class 20 (ii).] A clamp in accordance with the parent Specifications is modified by the use of one saddle member with clamping grooves disposed at angles, so that tubes may be clamped crosswise or parallel by the same saddle member. The saddle member K is provided with a groove L on one face and a groove M on the opposite face at an inclination to the axis of the first groove, so that by reversing the saddle member tubes may be clamped in parallel relationship. Projections V on the sides of the saddle member locate its position within the arms E of the main embracing member and the groove M may be cambered lengthwise to accommodate variations in the sizes of the tubes. In a modification the grooves L<1>, M<1> are disposed on the same face in directions inclined to each other so that reversal of the saddle member is unnecessary.
