400,559. Knife handles. ALTENBACH, 0., Schwanenwerk, Schwanenstrasse, Ohligs, Solingen, Germany. June 19, 1933, No. 17455. Addition to 286,581, [Class 61 (i), Hand-tool &c. handles]. [Class 61 (i).] In a pocketknife of the kind described in the parent Specification, having a tool 6 projecting at one end, either integrally from or rigidly secured to the back-spring 5, and provided with a protective cover, the cover 7 is preferably of bolster-form and is pivoted to the handle so as to be under the influence of the backspring 5 during its opening and closing movements. The cover 7 is a solid piece slotted to enclose the tool 6 and having a tang 9 pivoted between the side-plates of the handle and a heel bearing on the back-spring 5. When open, the cover 7 may be used for obtaining an additional leverage on the tool 6.
