Abstract

397,547. Changing-signs. COLLIS, H. H., Carmel, Eastcote Road, Ruislip, Middlesex. Feb. 26, 1932, No. 5774. [Classes 3 (i) and 3 (ii).] A plurality of reflection or edge-illuminated transparent plates 2 .. 7 are spaced apart one behind the other, and are illuminated two or more simultaneously so that moulded, embossed, depressed, or other representations on the plates stand in stereoscopic relief. The illuminating means comprises a lamp 9 surrounded by a rotating prism mounted on rollers 19 and having colour filters 12 in its sides, the effect being to light up the plates 2 .. 7 in succession, two or more being always lit simultaneously. An opaque strip may separate the colour filters, and a sheet of frosted glass &c. may be interposed between the light and the plates. The plates may be removably mounted in grooves in a casing 1, and the lamp 9 may be disposed at top, bottom, or side of the plates.
