Abstract
397,074. Discharge lamps. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. April 18, 1933, No. 11344. Convention date, April 18, 1932. [Class 39 (i).] In a tubular lamp divided by a longitudinal partition 2 into two or more conduits 3, 4 containing fillings giving light of different colours, the partition consists of coloured material which allows the passage of part of the light produced in one or more conduits. The partition may consist of yellow or brown glass, and one conduit may contain neon at a pressure of 10 millimetres and the other neon, argon, and mercury vapour, various colours being seen when the lamp is viewed in the directions indicated by the arrows 7, 8, 9.. Switches may be provided for producing discharges separately, alternately, or simultaneously in the conduits. The partition may be helical, or may consist of material having different colours such as bands side by side.
