Abstract

395,857. Supporting conductors. MORRIS, F., 7, Grantly Street, Glasgow. June 9, 1932, No. 16276. [Class 36.] A " pull-off " fitting for the overhead conductors of an electric traction system comprises a horizontal bolt 1 connected to a horizontal straining wire or wires, an insulator 2 embracing said bolt and a conductor clamp 3 suspended, from the insulator. The clamp 3 is secured to the insulator 2 by a split annular clamp 15 engaging a recess in the insulator. Fig. 1 shows a form for use on a single line or the inner side of a double line. To the end of the bolt 1 on the outer side of the curve is pivoted a bar 5 having a down-turned end 7 with an opening 8 at the level of the conductor 6 for the attachment of a straining wire. Fig. 6 shows a form for use on the outer side of a double line. At the outer end of the bolt 1 is provided a coupling element 10 to receive the straining wire and at the inner end an upturned member 11 with apertures 12, one of which receives a straining span wire the other end of which is connected to the member 7 of a device such as shown in Fig. 1.
