394,061. Clinometers. NAISBITT, W. J., Coniscliffe, Huntington Road, York, and SUMMERSON & SONS, Ltd., T., York Street, Darlington. Feb. 12, 1932, No. 4179. [Class 97 (ii).] A railway superelevation gauge comprises a beam provided at its ends with means to engage the rails and intermediately with a curved, graduated track in which a movable - spirit level may be slid until it is horizontal. The superelevation is indicated by the position, of the level in the track. In the form shown the beam b has a one piece track t having a central slot for observing the bubble and curved lateral slots in which ride projections on the spirit level l. The latter is provided with springs to press the projections against the riding surfaces. The track may have a convex or concave form.
