Abstract
393,994. Pipe joints. PARSONS & CO., Ltd., C. A., SMITH, T., and WILLIS, D. C. P., Heaton Works, Newcastle-on-Tyne. Dec. 17, 1931, No. 34987. [Class 99 (i).] A pipe 11 is provided with a collar 11b fitting into a recess 12 in the pipe to which it is to be jointed. A plate 15, surrounding the pipe 11 and having one end under an abutment 13a on the main pipe, is forced down on the collar 11b on screwing up a nut 17. The plate 15 has a projection 15c to give point contact with the collar to allow it to rock to take up inequalities in the packing 14. Specification 10157/04, [Class 122, Steam-engines], is referred to.
