387,524. Couplings. HENLEY'S TELEGRAPH WORKS CO., Ltd., W. T., 11, Holborn Viaduct, London, and NICHOLS, W. H., Garthowen, Hervines Road, Amersham, Buckinghamshire. March 12, 1932, No. 7422. [Class 38 (i).] Sheathing, connection of.-An electric cable grip for securing the outer sheath of a cable at the point of entry into a junction box or other apparatus, comprises a soft metal cone 1 adapted to be compressed on to the cable sheath 14 and against the end of the box 10 by a ring 7 and bolts 8, the cone being provided with slits 2 extending from the small end and with circumferential ribs bearing against the face 12 at the large end. The slits stop short of the large end leaving the circumference there uncut. When the ring is tightened up, the small end of the cone is caused to grip the sheath 14, while the ribs bearing against the face 12 yield slightly to make a tight joint. An additional hard metal shell completely subdivided by slits may be provided.
