386,928. Controlling two power units from a single point on a vehicle. RENAULT, L., 8, Avenue Emile Zola, Billancourt, Seine, France. Sept. 27, 1932, No. 26831.. Convention date, Oct. 29, 1931. [Class 79 (v).] Two change-speed gears at A and B, Fig. 1, are controlled separately or simultaneously at will from two lever 15, 151, which can be locked together by a through pin 18, Fig. 2. Selector rods 1, 2 of the gear A are connected through a linkage 4 .. 8, 13 to a shaft 14 secured to the lever 15, and selector rods 1<1>, 21 of the gear B through a linkage 41, 51, 81, 131 to a shaft 141 secured to the lever 151, the shafts 14, 141 being one within the other. Axial and rotary displacements of the shafts 14, 141 produce the same selective and operative displacements of the two pairs of selector rods. The driver of a vehicle can place himself on either side of a pillar supporting similar gates 16, 161.
