Abstract
386,008. Sifting - apparatus; conveyers. WOODALL-DUCKHAM (1920), Ltd. and SYMINGTON, S., 136, Victoria Street, London. July 14, 1931, No. 30737/30. [Class 117.] In screening or conveying apparatus of the type in which a travelling wave is produced in a flexible perforated or imperforate band 1, the means for forming the wave consists of one or more frames 6 rotating in or out of phase. The frames are mounted on shafts 8 rotated by cranks connected by a rod 10 to the actuating crank-shaft 9. The band 1 is secured by pivoted connections at its ends to fixed supports. Intermediate supports 5 and pivoted connections 4a may be provided. A trough section may be given to the band by the provision at its edges of upstanding sections 11, preferably in the form of steel plate's, which may be disposed at graded distances apart to participate in the screening action.
