Abstract

Aluminium alloys, particularly suitable for internal - combustion engine pistons contain 5-15 per cent of magnesium and 8-18 per cent of silicon, with or without 0,5-3 per cent of chromium. The alloys may be heated for 1-3 hours at 500-550 DEG C., quenched, and again heated for 1 1/2 -3\ba1/2 hours at 180-250 DEG C.
